In times before the Lions
Filled Avalon with beer,
A chap called Mister Lepidus
Held all his own folks dear
|
|
In Lepidus's Boneyard,
Boneyard!
Boneyard!
Lepidus's Boneyard
The Shadows draw near!
|
Well, Lepidus, he lived in Marse
He loved its people well:
He picked their gristles from his teeth
And rang their funeral knell
|
|
In Lepidus's Boneyard,
Boneyard!
Boneyard!
In Lepidus's Boneyard
He sent them all to Hell!
|
The House of Demetus
They were a noble clan.
But now they're all excret-us
They're gobbled to a man!
|
|
In Lepidus's Boneyard,
Boneyard!
Boneyard!
Lepidus's Boneyard
He even ate his gran!
|
His family went for a stroll
In Avalon one night
Demetus said, "We'll rule one day,"
A Shadow answered, "Quite!:-
|
|
In Lepidus's Boneyard,
Boneyard!
Boneyard!
Lepidus's Boneyard!
It's pointless to fight!"
|
"Oh woe!" cried House Demetus
All white with mortal fear,
"For Lepidus will eat us
And never shed a tear
|
|
In Lepidus's Boneyard,
Boneyard!
Boneyard!
Lepidus's Boneyard
In dark time o' the year!"
|
He pinned them to the tombstones,
He ate their livers whole,
And they were still alive when
Their blood ran in the bowl
|
|
In Lepidus's Boneyard,
Boneyard!
Boneyard!
Lepidus's Boneyard:
'Twill chill your mortal soul!
|
He had their brains on toast and
Their guts for garters grey;
He laid 'em out upon the ground
Their dead skins for to flay
|
|
In Lepidus's Boneyard,
Boneyard!
Boneyard!
Lepidus's Boneyard!
Not one went astray!
|
He went down to the library
With blood upon his jaw,
He burned the family papers
And gave a mighty roar
|
|
And the bones in his Boneyard,
Boneyard!
Boneyard!
The bones in his Boneyard
Were picked by his jack-daw!
|
And when he wasn't hungry
His dark deeds to inspire
He watched the pretty flames grow
And burned them in the fire!
|
|
In Lepidus's Boneyard,
Boneyard!
Boneyard!
Lepidus's Boneyard
He did his deeds so dire!
|
When there was no one left to burn
And all were gobbled up,
He swilled 'em down with blood and bile
And then refilled his cup
|
|
In Lepidus's Boneyard,
Boneyard!
Boneyard!
Lepidus's Boneyard!
And then he threw them up!
|
And then he ate them once again
(He liked to eat things twice)
For a cousin eaten only once
Isn't half as nice
|
|
In Lepidus's Boneyard,
Boneyard!
Boneyard!
Lepidus's Boneyard!
The feast will suffice.
|
He killed the people called the Blood
Garotted young and old,
He made black puddings out of them
And let their corpses mould
|
|
In Lepidus's Boneyard,
Boneyard!
Boneyard!
Lepidus's Boneyard!
There's carnage untold!
|
When Lions came to Avalon
He beat a fast retreat:
Now he lurks beneath your bed,
There'll yet be food to eat
|
|
In Lepidus's Boneyard,
Boneyard!
Boneyard!
Lepidus's Boneyard!
It's useless to entreat!
